About The Position

As an Environmental Planner, you will support the delivery of environmental planning and assessment projects across the transportation, energy, and infrastructure sectors. Working within a collaborative, multi‑disciplinary environment, this role offers an excellent opportunity to build foundational experience in environmental assessment, permitting, stakeholder engagement, and project delivery.

Requirements

  • University degree in Environmental Management, Ecology, Engineering, or a related natural or earth sciences discipline.
  • 0–2 years of relevant experience in environmental planning, assessment, or consulting.
  • Solid understanding of Microsoft 365 tools, including Word, Excel, and SharePoint.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to support technical documentation and client materials.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to complete tasks accurately, on time, and with minimal oversight.
  • Motivation to learn and grow within a fast‑paced consulting environment while contributing effectively within a team.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Oracle or other project management software is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with environmental and technical disciplines (including archaeology, ecology, and physical sciences) to coordinate proposals, reports, and client deliverables.
  • Support multi‑disciplinary teams in the planning and execution of environmental impact assessment and permitting projects.
  • Contribute to environmental and socio‑economic impact studies, environmental permitting and authorizations, and environmental monitoring or management system implementation.
  • Assist with the preparation of regulatory roadmaps, Environmental Study Reports, and Environmental Assessments in accordance with the federal Impact Assessment Act and Ontario’s Environmental Assessment Act.
  • Support the preparation and delivery of public meetings and consultation activities to communicate project plans and information to the public and interest groups.
  • Coordinate effectively with clients, Indigenous Rightsholders, regulatory agencies, and other project stakeholders.
  • Support Project Managers with project delivery by tracking schedules, scope, budgets, commitments, and deliverables.
  • Maintain project records, registers, and SharePoint sites while ensuring quality control and technical review processes are followed.
