About The Position

The Environmental Operator is responsible for ensuring personal and team safety and helping continuously improve safety practices across the division. The role supports compliance with state and federal environmental regulations by operating and maintaining baghouses, water systems, and associated equipment. It also helps maintain continuity between shifts, including project management and planning down-day and outage jobs. The Environmental Operator participates in inspections, visible emission observations, water chemistry testing, radiation detection, spill response, housekeeping, and other environmental tasks.

Requirements

At least 2 years of steel mill or heavy industrial experience.
Demonstrated mechanical ability and a proven self-starter approach.
Ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards.

Nice To Haves

Strong mechanical and/or electrical background.
Experience operating water systems, including water treatment, water chemistry analysis, and equipment installation and operation.
Experience with pollution control equipment such as baghouses.
HAZWOPER, RCRA, DOT, and EPA Method 9 training.

Responsibilities
