This role involves coaching, training, and developing team members, coordinating workflow, performing daily monitoring to meet turnaround times (TAT), and preparing/reviewing job plans. The position includes conducting performance reviews, interviewing applicants, maintaining training records, and performing succession planning. Key responsibilities also include performing various types of environmental and utility sampling, participating in system performance qualifications, and ensuring accurate data entry and review in compliance with laboratory procedures, standards, and GMP requirements. The role also entails training others, performing equipment qualifications/calibrations, troubleshooting equipment and methods, ensuring data integrity, and verifying data. Compliance with cGMPs, identification and investigation of non-conformances, and initiating investigations for deviations are critical. The position requires executing notifications to management, maintaining a safe work environment, supporting HSE goals, and ensuring inspection readiness. Identifying and communicating improvement opportunities, following CCI/Lean standards, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives are also part of the role.

Requirements

  • Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills
  • Bachelor's degree in a science major with up to 2 years of related experience in Environmental Monitoring.
  • Leadership experience
  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and experience interacting with people from a wide range of skill levels and experience
  • Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies

Responsibilities

  • Coach, train, and develop others within the group with respect to their personal development and effective implementation of operational improvements
  • Coordinate workflow and perform daily monitoring to meet TAT
  • Prepare and review job plans, conduct semiannual performance reviews, interview applicants, keep training records up to date for assigned employees, perform succession planning in preparation for growth
  • Perform environmental monitoring sampling, including non-viable, viable, surface sampling, and personnel monitoring in the various site manufacturing and support facilities.
  • Perform utility sampling, including non-viable, viable, oil content, dew point, and purity on compressed gas systems.
  • Perform sampling on water systems.
  • Participate in performance qualification of environmental, utility, and water systems.
  • Perform data entry and review work for accuracy in accordance with laboratory procedures, standards, and GMP requirements.
  • Train others within the lab, as required.
  • Perform routine equipment qualifications/calibrations or maintenance through execution of well-defined protocols, as required.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and methods, as required.
  • Ensure complete and effective monitoring of data using electronic systems.
  • Ensure that data integrity is maintained.
  • Second Person Verify (SPV) data of others, as required.
  • Ensure compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) and assist in the identification and investigations of non-conformance issues.
  • Recognize deviations from procedures and initiate investigations.
  • Execute notifications to management when required by procedures or standards.
  • Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment, working safely, and being accountable for supporting all HSE Corporate and Site Goals.
  • Support a constant state of inspection-readiness.
  • Identify and communicate opportunities for improvement initiatives in daily work activities.
  • Follow standards for CCI/Lean and support departmental or site continuous improvement initiatives.
