About The Position

We are looking for an Environmental Manager to join our team in Hannibal, MO. As an Environmental Manager with Quikrete Heavy Construction Materials, you will be responsible for compliance with all environmental regulations at the Hannibal, MO plant and the Owensville, MO Clay Mining Operation. The Environmental Manager manages all policies, processes, projects and activities related to compliance with environmental regulations at the two locations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering or related field is required.
  • At least 5 years of experience in the environmental field.
  • Must be an effective communicator (verbal and written,) building rapport with all members of the team including external departments.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment screening which includes physical, background check, and ten (10) panel drug screen.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with 40 CFR Part 63, Subpart EEE - National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants from Hazardous Waste Combustors desired.

Responsibilities

  • Executes responsibilities in compliance with plant rules, MSHA regulations, company policies and the collective bargaining agreement.
  • Ensures appropriate reports, approval requests and permit applications are accurate and timely submitted to the appropriate regulatory agencies.
  • Monitors and keeps records on the reporting responsibilities related to environmental regulations.
  • Sustains up-to-date expert knowledge regarding all environmental regulations that impact the Hannibal Plant and/or the Owensville, MO Clay Mining Operation.
  • Serves as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies including the USEPA and MDNR on matters related to environmental compliance at the Hannibal, MO Plant and Owensville, MO Clay Mining Operation.
  • Investigates environmental incidents and complaints; recommends and implements any necessary corrective action related there to.
  • Oversees training required for regulatory compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Accountable for providing leadership, development and coaching on individual performance to direct report to achieve business results.
  • Participates in community relations activities.
  • Support environmental functions of Green America Recycling.
  • Other duties as assigned.
