The Environmental Manager is responsible for overseeing the environmental compliance and sustainability requirements of the contract and ensuring all operations are conducted in accordance with applicable federal, state, local, and installation-specific regulations and policies. This role involves ensuring contractor operations align with the Environmental Management System (EMS), the Installation Energy Plan, and other sustainability requirements. The manager will develop, implement, and monitor environmental strategies, policies, and programs to promote sustainable operations and continuous improvement. Key duties include evaluating contract activities for compliance, overseeing environmental performance, developing sustainability initiatives, conducting audits, managing compliance programs for various environmental aspects (hazardous waste, stormwater, air quality, etc.), preparing reports, and coordinating with stakeholders. The role also includes leadership and oversight responsibilities, such as providing training, conducting job site assessments, preparing reports, maintaining technical documentation, and performing internal audits.
