About The Position

The Environmental Manager is responsible for overseeing the environmental compliance and sustainability requirements of the contract and ensuring all operations are conducted in accordance with applicable federal, state, local, and installation-specific regulations and policies. This role involves ensuring contractor operations comply with the goals and objectives of the Environmental Management System (EMS), the Installation Energy Plan, and all other applicable sustainability requirements affecting the contract. The Environmental Manager will develop, implement, and monitor environmental strategies, policies, and programs that promote sustainable operations and continuous environmental improvement. This includes evaluating contract activities to identify opportunities for improvement and ensuring compliance with applicable environmental laws, regulations, permits, and energy policies. The role also oversees the organization's environmental performance by ensuring compliance with all applicable federal, state, local, Department of Defense (DoD), and installation-specific environmental requirements. Additionally, the Environmental Manager will develop and implement sustainability initiatives that support energy conservation, pollution prevention, waste reduction, recycling, and responsible resource management. This position requires planning, coordinating, and conducting environmental audits, inspections, and compliance assessments, and implementing corrective actions as necessary. The Environmental Manager will manage environmental compliance programs related to hazardous waste, universal waste, stormwater, spill prevention, air quality, water quality, and other applicable environmental programs. A key part of the role involves preparing, maintaining, and submitting environmental reports, records, permits, and other required documentation in accordance with contractual and regulatory requirements. The Environmental Manager will coordinate with Government representatives, regulatory agencies, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders on environmental compliance matters and promote environmental stewardship and corporate social responsibility by fostering a culture of environmental awareness, sustainability, and regulatory compliance throughout the organization.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience working with environmental procedures, compliance programs, or related environmental operations.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must possess, or be able to obtain and maintain, a valid Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) credential, which requires successfully passing applicable federal, state, and local background checks.

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience working with the Naval Aviation Maintenance Program (NAMP), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards, NAVSEA/NAVAIR requirements, and organizational safety policies and procedures.
  • Current OSHA 10-Hour or OSHA 30-Hour Safety Training certification preferred or required, as applicable.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and develop effective corrective actions.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy, quality, and regulatory compliance.
  • Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision, while also collaborating effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team.

  • Perform comprehensive job site assessments and identify deficiencies, hazards, or areas requiring corrective action.
  • Prepare detailed written reports documenting site assessments, corrective actions, and recommendations for submission to upper management.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, audit records, inspection reports, and other historical records to support compliance and operational continuity.
  • Manage and maintain the organization's technical library of environmental regulations, policies, standards, and guidance documents to ensure current regulatory compliance.
  • Conduct internal audits, inspections, and compliance reviews to verify adherence to applicable federal, state, and local environmental regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
