About The Position

SRE Engineering, D.P.C. is a certified NYC/NYS M/WBE construction management firm seeking a qualified Hazmat/Environmental Inspector to join our team in Brooklyn. This role involves ensuring compliance with environmental regulations on heavy civil and bridge construction projects.

Requirements

• Valid BCI certification
• Valid HAZWOPER certification (40-hour minimum)
• Minimum 7 years of bridge or heavy civil construction inspection experience
• Experience on NYSDOT or NYCDOT bridge reconstruction/rehabilitation projects
• Familiarity with lead paint removal compliance, hazardous waste handling, and environmental monitoring
• Experience with soil sampling, air monitoring, and erosion/sediment control

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of NYCDEP, NYSDEC, and NYC Parks environmental requirements

Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections related to hazardous materials and environmental compliance on heavy civil and bridge construction projects.
• Monitor lead paint removal, hazardous waste handling, and environmental conditions.
• Perform soil sampling, air monitoring, and ensure erosion/sediment control measures are in place.
• Verify compliance with NYCDEP, NYSDEC, and NYC Parks environmental requirements.
