About The Position

Our client, a global manufacturing organization with its US headquarters in WNY, is looking to hire an EHS Specialist to join their growing team. This is a permanent, full-time, direct hire position with 100% in-office work.

Requirements

  • 2+ years’ in an industrial or manufacturing environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in EHS or equivalent experience in a related field
  • Must be able to stand/walk/climb stairs, occasionally lift materials, wear required PPE, and work in an environment with noise and moving equipment
  • Strong organization skills and time management skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Self-motivated
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States; Visa sponsorship is not available

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily responsibilities that create a proactive safety culture across multiple locations
  • Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and workplace observations throughout all production, warehouse, and office locations
  • Identify potential hazards and collaborate with various team members to implement effective corrective measures
  • Promote and monitor compliance with PPE requirements and established safe work practices
  • Perform job hazard analyses, ergonomic assessments, and machine safety evaluations
  • Track safety issues as they are being corrected to ensure timely response and closure
  • Participate in investigations of incidents, near misses, and environmental events to determine the root cause, support corrective action implementation, and drive continuous safety improvement
  • Ensure accurate/up to date OSHA records and incident reports are maintained and maintain compliance
  • Present incident results and information to other internal departments to act as learning opportunities
  • Provide EHS training for new hires, existing employees, and contractors as necessary
  • Promote employee participation in safety programs, encouraging safe behavior, and provide coaching and training through presence on the production floor
  • Participate in audits and inspections by providing EHS documentation
  • Manage various environmental programs—chemical handling, spill prevention, and waste management—to ensure strict adherence to OSHA/EPA/DOT and company regulations
  • Collaborate with Maintenance, Engineering, & Production to ensure safe operations occur at all times
  • Participate in safety upgrades, equipment installations, facility upgrades, and implementing new safety protocols
  • Work well both independently and in a team environment
  • Other duties as assigned/as necessary
