About The Position

Pretium Packaging is seeking a hands-on Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist to support safety, compliance, and environmental programs within a dynamic manufacturing environment. In this role, you will be a partner with operations, maintenance, engineering, and leadership teams to ensure safe work practices, reduce risk, and strengthen safety culture across the facility. This is a position where you can lead safety initiatives, influence culture, and make a real impact.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of EHS experience in manufacturing
  • Experience in plastics, injection molding, blow molding, or industrial manufacturing is strongly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA and environmental compliance
  • Experience investigating incidents and performing root cause analysis
  • Ability to influence employees and leadership to drive safe work practices
  • Strong documentation and organizational skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field preferred
  • OSHA 30 Certification preferred
  • CHST, ASP, or other professional safety certification
  • First Aid / CPR / AED
  • Bilingual candidates; the ability to read, write, and speak Spanish fluently is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Support and maintain the Pretium Packaging EHS program in compliance with OSHA and environmental regulations
  • Conduct safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments across manufacturing operations
  • Investigate incidents, injuries, and near misses to determine root cause and implement corrective actions
  • Maintain OSHA logs, safety documentation, and compliance records
  • Report current/potential issues to the plant leadership and provide potential solutions
  • Support environmental programs including waste management, emissions, stormwater, and chemical handling
  • Monitor hazardous and non-hazardous waste handling and storage
  • Assist with environmental inspections and regulatory reporting
  • Deliver safety training including: Lockout/Tagout, PPE and hazard communication, Machine guarding, Ergonomics and emergency response
  • Engage employees in safety initiatives, committees, and continuous improvement efforts
  • Partner with operations to identify hazards associated with: Plastics processing equipment, Robotics and automation, Compressed air systems, Material handling and resins
  • Support implementation of engineering and administrative safety controls
  • Track safety metrics and support improvement initiatives
  • Assist with emergency response planning including: Fire safety, Evacuation procedures, Spill response, Medical emergency coordination
  • Support drills and emergency response teams
