About The Position

Our Telecommunications Group has been at the forefront of creating a new generation of wireless communication infrastructure for over 40 years. We specialize in everything from network development to complete telecom life cycle solutions. While the wireless world is ever changing, the demand for innovative technology and long-term support services remains constant. These services include site acquisition, design, and construction, to full operations, maintenance, and deconstruction. The EHS Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the safe, compliant, and sustainable operation of data center facilities. This position is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing comprehensive environmental, health, and safety programs aligned with local, state, and federal regulations. The role supports mission-critical infrastructure by safeguarding personnel, assets, and operational continuity.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of EHS experience, ideally within data centers, industrial, or high-tech environments.
  • Based in Northern Virginia, with flexibility to travel occasionally as needed.
  • Solid understanding of regulatory frameworks such as OSHA, EPA, ISO 14001/45001.
  • Experience with electrical safety, confined space entry, and hazardous materials management (preferred).
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Professional certifications such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional), CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist), or CHMM (Certified Hazardous Materials Manager) are a plus.
  • Familiarity with data center infrastructure including UPS systems, generators, and cooling technologies.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related discipline (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and enforce EHS policies, procedures, and standards specific to data center environments.
  • Champion a culture of safety by taking ownership of initiatives that protect people and drive continuous improvement in EHS performance.
  • Serve as a technical resource to senior leadership, ensuring consistent application of EHS tools and alignment with regional strategic goals.
  • Collaborate with EHS staff and operations teams to execute the regional EHS business plan and monitor key performance indicators.
  • Build strong working relationships across operations, EHS, sales, and support teams to ensure consistent safety practices across regional projects and offices.
  • Oversee on-site EHS performance, including subcontractor activities, and identify opportunities for improvement through ongoing monitoring and analysis.
  • Conduct risk assessments and hazard analyses for critical infrastructure systems such as electrical, HVAC, and fire suppression.
  • Lead incident investigations and root cause analyses, ensuring timely implementation of corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, NFPA, and other applicable regulatory standards.
  • Coordinate emergency preparedness activities, including planning and conducting drills for fire, chemical, and electrical incidents.
  • Manage environmental initiatives including waste management, energy conservation, and water usage optimization.
  • Deliver EHS training programs for employees, contractors, and vendors working on-site.
  • Partner with engineering, operations, and security teams to embed safety into all aspects of data center design and operations.
  • Maintain accurate EHS documentation, reporting, and metrics for internal reviews and external audits.
