About The Position

This is an expression of interest for 11 contract positions for Environmental Health Practitioners to ensure continuous service delivery for the City of Tshwane. The contract period is for three years from the date of appointment, not exceeding three years. The practitioners will be contracted through a City of Tshwane contract.

Requirements

• National Diploma in Environmental Health or equivalent qualification
• Registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as an Environmental Health Practitioner
• Driving licence and a vehicle to perform functions
• Must undergo a criminal record check and such a person shall allow their fingerprints to be taken by the Tshwane Metro Police Department at own cost
• Candidates must be willing to be placed anywhere within Tshwane
• Candidates must be willing to work after hours and/or shifts

Nice To Haves

• Experience in municipal health services will be an added advantage

Responsibilities

• Ensure the implementation of environmental health services according to policy and procedural directives, including food control, waste management, chemical safety, health surveillance of premises, prevention of communicable diseases, environmental pollution control, disposal of the dead, water quality monitoring, and vector control.
• Perform any other duties relevant to the function of the Municipal Health Services Section.
