Environmental, Health and Safety Intern
About The Position
Belmark is seeking an Environmental, Health & Safety Intern to help ensure compliance with its Environmental Health & Safety System and customer, internal, third-party, and regulatory requirements. The work includes documentation compliance, auditing, and corrective and preventive action (CAPA) projects. The intern will contribute to real-time decisions and departmental work in a fast-paced, friendly environment. The intern will assist with internal safety and environmental audits; conduct Job Safety Analyses and draft safe-operation procedures for production equipment; perform workplace environmental monitoring for light, noise, and chemicals; maintain the Safety Data Sheet inventory; assist with environmental and safety compliance recordkeeping; keep production signage up to date; and research safety and environmental practices for possible internal adoption. Other duties may be assigned by the Quality Compliance Manager and Environmental Health and Safety Specialist.
Requirements
- Be enrolled full-time or part-time at an accredited university or technical college.
- Be able to work a minimum of 15 and up to 40 hours per week.
- Be proficient in Microsoft Office programs.
- Be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers, decimals, and fractions.

Responsibilities
- Assist with internal safety and environmental audits.
- Conduct Job Safety Analyses (JSA) and draft procedures for the safe operation of production equipment.
- Conduct workplace environmental monitoring, including light, noise, and chemical monitoring.
- Maintain the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) inventory.
- Assist with environmental and safety compliance recordkeeping.
- Ensure production signage is up to date.
- Research safety and environmental best practices for internal adoption.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Quality Compliance Manager and Environmental Health and Safety Specialist.
