About The Position

The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Business Partner supports the environmental, health, and safety needs of an assigned business unit or region, typically supporting a large site, work group, or regional footprint. This role develops, implements, and maintains EHS programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements while promoting a proactive safety culture. The position operates with moderate independence and partners closely with leadership to influence safe operations, risk reduction, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in EHS, safety, or related field
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA and applicable regulatory requirements
  • Ability to evaluate risks and implement effective mitigation strategies
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to influence stakeholders
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with a sense of urgency
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to travel up to 50%

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with hazardous materials handling, industrial environments, or industrial hygiene exposure monitoring preferred
  • Professional certification such as ASP or CSP preferred
  • Ability to act as a company representative during regulatory inspections when needed
  • Understanding of the relationship between safety, quality, and productivity and impact on business outcomes

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain strong partnerships with leadership and employees, serving as a trusted advisor on all EHS matters
  • Support dissemination and implementation of ATS Environmental, Health and Safety standards, policies, and strategy
  • Foster a culture of safety and environmental responsibility through workforce engagement and leadership coaching
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve EHS programs, policies, and procedures
  • Conduct inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and maintain audit-ready documentation
  • Investigate incidents, near misses, and safety concerns, determining root cause and implementing corrective actions
  • Track, analyze, and report EHS metrics, including leading and lagging indicators, to drive improvement
  • Deliver EHS training and provide one-on-one guidance to managers and employees
  • Support workers’ compensation case management including reporting, modified duty, and return-to-work strategies
  • Coordinate emergency preparedness efforts including response plans and drills
  • Partner with site leadership to maintain a continuous state of regulatory and internal audit readiness
  • Serve as a technical EHS resource, providing guidance on risk management and operational changes
  • Travel to company and client sites as needed (25-50%)
