Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Natural Resources, Biology, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and relevant field experience.
  • Typically 5–8 years of experience supporting environmental compliance activities on pipeline, LNG, heavy civil, or other large linear infrastructure construction projects.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing environmental management plans within active construction environments.
  • Experience tracking, documenting, and maintaining records for environmental mitigation measures and compliance activities.
  • Strong working knowledge of environmental controls associated with erosion and sediment control, waterbody protection, reclamation, stabilization, and wildlife mitigation.
  • Ability to read and interpret environmental permits, construction environmental plans, mitigation commitments, and field procedures.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills with the ability to maintain accurate field records and mitigation tracking information.
  • Ability to work effectively within remote field environments and rotational camp-based assignments.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills with the ability to coordinate effectively with construction supervision, Environmental Inspectors, and project leadership.
  • Practical problem-solving skills and the ability to identify potential compliance concerns before they escalate.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting FERC-regulated pipeline or LNG construction projects.
  • Familiarity with Alaska construction environments, seasonal constraints, and remote logistics.
  • Experience supporting environmental compliance within large-scale energy infrastructure projects operating in environmentally sensitive areas.
  • Experience working within integrated construction and environmental field teams.

Responsibilities

  • Support implementation of the Construction Environmental Management Plan (CEMP) and associated environmental discipline plans during active construction activities.
  • Assist construction crews with installation, maintenance, and field verification of required environmental controls and mitigation measures.
  • Participate in daily coordination meetings, pre-task planning sessions, and construction briefings to communicate environmental requirements and constraints.
  • Verify environmental controls and mitigation measures are properly installed and functioning prior to and during construction activities.
  • Apply environmental permit conditions, commitments, timing restrictions, and project-specific mitigation requirements within assigned work areas.
  • Support field confirmation that construction activities align with approved permits, plans, and environmental commitments.
  • Identify potential environmental compliance concerns, field conflicts, or mitigation deficiencies and escalate them appropriately to the Environmental Field Manager.
  • Maintain awareness of environmental sensitivities and constraints that may impact construction sequencing and work execution.
  • Track quantities, locations, and implementation status of environmental mitigation measures including: Erosion and sediment control features, Temporary and permanent stabilization measures, Wetland and waterbody protection measures, Wildlife mitigation actions, Reclamation and restoration activities.
  • Maintain organized and accurate field documentation including logs, maps, photographs, mitigation tracking records, and daily field observations.
  • Coordinate mitigation tracking information with Environmental Inspectors and construction supervision to ensure consistency and alignment of project documentation.
  • Serve as a field-level environmental implementation contact for assigned construction activities and work fronts.
  • Work collaboratively with construction leadership to integrate environmental requirements into practical field execution strategies.
  • Support Environmental Field Managers with compliance summaries, reporting inputs, mitigation tracking updates, and documentation management.
  • Assist with documentation and follow-up activities associated with corrective actions identified during inspections or internal compliance reviews.
