Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Engineering or other engineering discipline.
• Five to ten years of experience working on environmental projects, or five to ten years working in an environmental analytical laboratory.
• Must meet ADEC’s definition of a Qualified Professional.
• A broad understanding of federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
• Valid state driver’s license and qualified to operate a vehicle under the conditions of the Company’s Driving Policy.
• Ability to pass drug and background screening.
• Knowledge of the practical application of environmental engineering science and technology, including principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment.
• Knowledge and understanding of RCRA, NPDES, CWA, OPPA, CAA, and other applicable laws, legal codes, government regulations, executive orders, and agency rules.
• Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
• Ability to use analytical skills alongside scientific rules and methods to solve problems and apply logic and reasoning.
• Basic computer skills specifically using Microsoft Office Suite; ability to learn additional computer skills or software programs.
• Effective oral and technical written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively and cooperatively with all levels of management and staff.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize, multi-task, and confidentially process and maintain data with accuracy.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in federal government projects is highly desired.
• 40-hour Hazardous Waste Operations certificate preferred.
• Familiar with federal and state regulations relating to stormwater, wastewater, air quality/emissions, oil storage, and waste in PE-licensed state(s).
• Familiarity with federal and state regulations relating to environmental restoration projects in same state(s) a plus.
• Hazardous Waste Operation and Emergency Response training with current 8-hour refresher preferred.
• ArcGIS experience preferred.
• Experience with Health and Safety functions a plus.

Responsibilities

• Participate in collecting, synthesizing, and documenting data relating to environmental compliance tasks, including stormwater, wastewater, air quality/emissions, oil storage, and waste regulations.
• Assist in the preparation and/or review of permits, pollution prevention plans, and regulatory-driven reporting.
• Provide field support, which may include field site supervision.
• Utilize knowledge and experience with environmental site investigations and cleanups to support field efforts and document preparation and/or review.
• Conduct and oversee site inspections, assessments, investigations, and cleanups in accordance with state and federal regulatory guidelines.
• Work with environmental technicians and other technical staff in data collection, site inspection/investigation, and evaluation of data.
• Provide scientific and technical guidance, support, coordination, and oversight to project staff preparing written project documentation.
• Review and document processes for obtaining, developing, and/or updating environmental permits, plans, reports, licenses, and other requirements.
• Review and provide documentation of environmental technical standards, guidelines, policies, and formal regulations.
• Prepare charts or graphs from data samples, providing summary information on the environmental relevance of the data.
• Determine data collection methods for site surveys and investigations.
• Actively participate in creating a positive team environment.
• Support project planning and RFP responses.
• Solve challenges for Clients.
• Manage company resources to ensure proper deliverables.
• Support junior Environmental Engineering staff.
• Actively participate in a proactive safety culture.
• Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
• Perform other duties as directed.
