About The Position

Michels Corporation is seeking an Environmental Coordinator to provide environmental support services to critical industries. This role will focus on coordinating and documenting environmental field compliance on a power transmission line construction project near Syracuse, New York, for an estimated 36-48+ months. The Environmental Coordinator will work closely with the construction team to ensure proactive environmental field compliance. Responsibilities include reviewing scopes of work, drafting construction permits and compliance plans, collecting and analyzing multi-media sampling, performing environmental observations and audits, and managing regulatory reporting requirements. Requirements

  • 2+ years of environmental compliance or related construction experience.
  • Knowledgeable with environmental construction compliance topics and applicable regulations, including storm water best management, process water control, waste storage and disposal, general air compliance, and fuel storage.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Organization, time management skills, and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite software.
  • Ability to negotiate compliance issues.
  • A valid driver’s license for the type(s) of vehicles you may be driving and an acceptable driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in linear construction projects.
  • Geographic Information Systems (GIS) experience.
  • Experience with New York State Public Service Law Article VII environmental approval process and project construction requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and document environmental field compliance on a power transmission line construction project.
  • Coordinate proactive environmental field compliance with the construction team.

  • Act as a liaison for regulatory visits or issues.
  • Support other Michels environmental needs through regional travel.
