About The Position

Michels Corporation is seeking an Environmental Coordinator I to provide environmental support services to critical industries. This role will focus on coordinating and documenting environmental field compliance on a power transmission line construction project near Syracuse, New York, for an estimated 36-48+ months. The position involves collaborating with the construction team to ensure proactive environmental compliance, reviewing scopes of work, drafting permits and compliance plans, collecting and analyzing samples, conducting environmental observations and audits, and managing regulatory reporting. Requirements

  • 2+ years of environmental compliance or related construction experience.
  • Knowledgeable with environmental construction compliance topics and applicable regulations, including but not limited to storm water best management, process water control, waste storage and disposal, general air compliance, and fuel storage.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Organization, time management skills, and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite software.
  • Ability to negotiate compliance issues and act as a liaison of company project management for regulatory visits or issues.
  • A valid driver’s license for the type(s) of vehicles you may be driving and an acceptable driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience advising utility construction teams on environmental compliance issues, negotiating company best interests with customers.
  • Experience with New York State Public Service Law Article VII environmental approval process and project construction requirements.
  • Experience in linear construction projects.
  • Geographic Information Systems (GIS) experience.

Responsibilities
