About The Position

Michels Corporation is seeking an Environmental Coordinator to provide environmental support services to critical industries. This role involves coordinating and documenting field environmental compliance on utility and energy construction projects throughout West Virginia and surrounding states. The Environmental Coordinator will review scopes of work, draft construction permits and compliance plans, collect and analyze multi-media sampling, perform environmental observations and audits, and track and manage regulatory reporting requirements. Requirements

  • 2+ years of environmental compliance or related construction experience.
  • Knowledgeable with environmental construction compliance topics and applicable regulations, including but not limited to storm water best management, process water control, waste storage and disposal, general air compliance, and fuel storage.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Organization, time management skills, and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite software.
  • A valid driver’s license for the type(s) of vehicles you may be driving and an acceptable driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor or Associate degree with emphasis in environmental studies, natural sciences, engineering, or related field. Advanced training or education in Environmental or Technical Field, with equivalent years may be acceptable.
  • Experience in linear construction projects
  • Geographic Information Systems (GIS) experience

Responsibilities

  • Negotiate compliance issues and act as a liaison for regulatory visits or issues.
