About The Position

The Environmental Coordinator at Nucor Insulated Panel Group (NIPG) will provide leadership in all environmental matters, including permitting, maintenance, record-keeping, and auditing of environmental compliance programs. This role involves leading plant-wide environmental project management, training, and community outreach. The position emphasizes promoting Nucor's mission of safety and environmental stewardship, assisting multiple division locations in maintaining compliance with air, water, and waste regulations, tank management, emergency plans, Risk Management Plan, and environmental management systems (EMS). The coordinator will interact with federal, state, and local regulatory agencies, submit required environmental reports, and represent NIPG at EHS meetings and audits. A strong focus on safety is paramount, requiring candidates to uphold safety policies and standards.

Requirements

High School Diploma or Equivalent.
Two years of environmental compliance experience.
Strong organizational skills and written and verbal communication skills.
Knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook.
Valid driver’s license.
Willing and able to travel in the US and internationally up to 50% of the time.

Nice To Haves

4-year degree in environmental, health, safety or related technical field.
Solid understanding of environmental permitting and serve as a liaison for State and Federal environmental agencies.
3+ years of environmental compliance experience in a manufacturing field.
Ability and desire to promote into a senior level environmental role at other Nucor divisions.

Responsibilities

Provide leadership in promoting Nucor’s mission, ensuring safety is instilled as a value with a strong focus on environmental stewardship.
Assist multiple locations in the division in maintaining compliance with air, water, and waste regulations, tank management, emergency plans, Risk Management Plan, and environmental management system (EMS).
Interact with various Federal, State, and Local regulatory agencies on permitting, compliance, and facility inspections.
Submit required environmental reports to agencies including but not limited to: Air Emissions Inventory, Annual Waste Summary, Toxic Release Inventory (TRI), discharge monitoring reports (DMRs).
Represent NIPG at Corporate and NIPG's EHS meetings, training sessions, and plant audits.
Track and submit division metrics as related to corporate requirements/President’s Environmental award statistics.
Uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards.
