About The Position

Hana Engineers and Consultants, LLC (Hana), an environmental remediation, construction, demolition, and field services company, is seeking an entry-level or experienced Environmental Construction Laborer as a full-time employee. The position is remote, with an ideal location in northern Virginia, eastern West Virginia, or western Maryland. Extensive travel is required; lodging and per diem are provided. The role involves heavy labor on construction-related tasks. Work may take place in extreme weather, including hot and cold temperatures, and may occasionally require respirators, protective suits, and other personal protective equipment. Employment is contingent on a background check, drug screening, and passing a physical examination by a medical professional for the anticipated work requirements.

Requirements

Excellent oral communication skills and the ability to work well with staff and subcontractors.
A valid driver's license and a safe driving record as measured by company policy.
High school diploma, GED, or vocational school education.
Pass a background check, drug screening, and a physical examination for the anticipated work requirements.

Nice To Haves

Experience operating and maintaining small and heavy equipment, such as excavators, skidsteers, water trucks, off-road dump trucks, and sweepers.
A commercial driver's license (CDL).
College or technical training courses in environmental science or a related field.
A 40-hour HAZWOPER certificate and a current 8-hour HAZWOPER refresher certificate; training will be provided for qualified entry-level candidates.

Responsibilities

Excavate using a variety of hand tools.
Install and maintain erosion and sediment controls.
Operate and maintain pumps and treatment systems.
Oversee delivery and off-loading of supplies and materials.
Operate heavy equipment.
