The Environmental Compliance Technician supports environmental compliance programs by conducting inspections, managing waste activities, collecting compliance data, sampling, maintaining environmental records, and assisting with regulatory reporting. Requirements

  • Associate degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Technology, Chemistry, Biology, Occupational Safety, or a related technical field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in environmental compliance, manufacturing, industrial operations, or related fields.
  • Experience with generating routine regulatory reporting for air, waste, and water

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Familiarity with RC14001 Responsible Care, and ISO 9001
  • May be required to work in adverse weather conditions (cold, hot, humid, rain, snow, etc.)
  • HAZWOPER 40 certification
  • Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and access elevated work areas.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including respiratory protection when required.
  • Periodically, some activities, such as stormwater sampling or turnaround support, may be performed during a night shift

Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine environmental inspections of manufacturing, storage, and waste management areas and associated reporting
  • Assist with environmental audits, agency inspections, and compliance assessments
  • Coordinate waste characterization, profiling, labeling, storage, and disposal activities
  • Conduct sampling for stormwater, fenceline monitoring and waste characterization
  • Maintain and calibrate environmental monitoring equipment
  • Assist with maintenance of Leak Detection and Repair (LDAR) database
  • Assist in preparing regulatory reports and permit-required submissions
  • Track environmental performance metrics and support sustainability reporting initiatives
  • Assist in developing and delivering environmental compliance training to site personnel
  • Participate in site HSE programs and continuous improvement efforts
  • Work closely with operations, maintenance, and HSE personnel to improve environmental performance
  • Understand RCRA, TSCA, SARA applicability to site activities
