About The Position

The Environmental Compliance Specialist supports the execution of CLP’s environmental compliance programs by ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local regulations. This role is responsible for day-to-day compliance activities including reporting, audits, inspections, and documentation, with a focus on maintaining regulatory compliance across operations.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
4+ years of environmental compliance or EH&S experience.
Experience with NPDES permitting, CARB reporting, SF₆ emissions reporting, environmental audits, and inspections.
Knowledge of PFAS management and EPA regulations, including the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, CERCLA, and RCRA.
Experience with air compliance, permitting, chemical inventory management, and environmental documentation.
Strong organizational, communication, and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Ability to travel overnight up to 30%
Must be able to work in the US without a work visa sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

Experience working in utility, construction, industrial, energy, or infrastructure environments preferred.
Familiarity with California and New York environmental regulations preferred.
HAZWOPER 40-Hour and/or OSHA 30-Hour certifications preferred.
High-voltage utility or infrastructure experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Prepare and submit environmental reports to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including NPDES permits and multi-state reporting requirements.
Manage environmental permits, reporting schedules, and compliance obligations to ensure timely and accurate regulatory submissions.
Monitor and maintain compliance with CARB requirements and track SF₆ inventory, usage, emissions, and associated regulatory reporting.
Maintain environmental records, emissions data, permits, and compliance documentation in an organized, audit-ready manner.
Support internal and external audits, inspections, and regulatory reviews, including corrective action tracking and resolution.
Coordinate hazardous waste management activities, including generator status compliance (SQG/LQG), waste handling, storage, transportation, and disposal in accordance with RCRA and state regulations.
Ensure proper labeling, storage, tracking, and documentation of hazardous materials and waste.
Conduct field and construction site inspections to verify environmental compliance and identify corrective actions.
Partner with operations and field personnel to implement environmental programs, provide compliance guidance, and ensure adherence to environmental requirements.
Assist with environmental incident reporting, investigations, corrective actions, and follow-up activities.
Develop and maintain SOPs, checklists, and compliance procedures to support consistent execution and regulatory compliance.
Stay current on environmental regulations and industry best practices.
Perform other environmental compliance and EH&S-related duties as assigned.
