The Environmental Compliance Specialist will collaborate with leadership to direct the development, planning, and implementation of environmental safety programs, policies, and procedures related to federal, state, and local regulations. This role involves assisting with the development and implementation of environmental safety strategies and action plans to ensure organizational sustainability. The specialist will coordinate aspects of sustainability, including pollution control, waste management, recycling, environmental health, conservation, and renewable energy as they pertain to environmental compliance. They will perform auditing, analyzing, and reporting of environmental safety performances for Advocate Health facilities to Senior Leadership and regulatory agencies, and conduct impact assessments to identify and reduce organizational risks and financial costs. The position also involves promoting and raising awareness of emerging environmental safety issues, assisting with training staff at all levels, and responsible for environmental safety reporting. Additionally, the specialist will help identify and develop environmental safety metrics and direct/consult with Advocate Facilities regarding Environmental Safety.
