About The Position

Lead the SHE Management System: Implement, maintain, and routinely review for effectiveness and compliance across the site. Coach, train, and advise: Deliver practical SHE guidance and training to operations, engineering/facilities, quality, labs, warehousing, projects, and contractors. Own compliance and readiness: Maintain environmental permits/licenses, ensure inspection/audit readiness, and manage notifications to OSHA/EPA/state agencies when required. Strengthen emergency preparedness: Ensure evacuation procedures and emergency response plans are robust; coordinate drills and follow-through on improvements. Drive continuous improvement: Analyze incident data and trends, manage CAPA, run strategic reviews, and lead SHE committee engagement to grow a proactive safety culture. Connect the network: Liaise with AZ/Alexion SHE teams to share and implement best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (or 10+ years experience) in SHE, Environmental Science, Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, Chemistry, or related discipline.
  • 5+ years proven experience leading site-level SHE programs in a regulated environment (pharma/biotech, chemical, advanced manufacturing).
  • Strong knowledge of SHE management systems, risk assessment, incident investigation, CAPA, and compliance assurance.
  • Ability to translate regulations into practical procedures and training; strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience planning and running drills/exercises with follow-up actions.

Nice To Haves

  • CSP, CIH, CHMM, NEBOSH, or equivalent professional credential.
  • Familiarity with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 (or equivalent frameworks).
  • Experience supporting regulatory inspections and internal/third‑party audits.
