About The Position

An Environmental Scientist or Geologist is typically assigned specific tasks on project teams and is expected to use their knowledge to resolve the problems and tasks they are assigned under the mentorship of senior staff. Fieldwork, data management, report writing, and interaction with project staff will play an important role in the candidate’s success. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in geology, environmental science, or related field from an accredited program.
  • Entry level to five years of relevant professional experience.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational, writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

  • M.S. preferred.
  • Experience working around construction equipment and/or in a construction environment is a plus.
  • Strong computer skills, including Word, Excel, ArcGIS, CAD, or database software, preferred.
  • Experience in developing and implementing project work plans, schedules, and budgets is a plus.
  • 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training is a plus, but we will train.

Responsibilities

  • Collecting soil, groundwater, and other environmental media samples to support site investigation and remediation objectives.
  • Installing monitoring wells, performing remediation monitoring, and overseeing contractors.
  • Assist field investigations and provide construction oversight by following safety policies, thoroughly understanding specifications, and documenting contractor activities and safety procedures.
  • Assisting in preparing various regulatory submittments, technical memoranda, and/or reports.
  • Manage, analyze, evaluate, and interpret data for use in reports and other visualizations, including maps, charts, and 3D models.
  • Candidate should be a self-starter and possess strong technical fieldwork and writing skills to support various science and engineering projects.
  • Detail-oriented, have excellent verbal communication skills combined with a positive attitude, and can work independently and within teams.
