About The Position

Arcadis is seeking an Entry-Level Geologist or Environmental Scientist to join our team in Melville, NY. While this position requires both field and office work, the candidate should expect to spend 75% to 95% of their time in the field. Candidates graduating in May 2026 are encouraged to apply. We are looking for a candidate with strong organizational and team building skills, who feels comfortable with a dynamic workflow. As part of our Resilience Environment team, you’ll help improve quality of life. You will work alongside Senior Geologists/Scientists and Engineers, Project/Program Managers, and Technical Experts on various activities in support of diverse environmental assessment and remediation projects. This opportunity is to support our growing emerging contaminant project portfolio and remediation capabilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s of Science in Geology, Hydrogeology, or closely related field (i.e., environmental science, physical science)
  • Strong organizational and team building skills.
  • Comfortable with a dynamic workflow.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Exhibit independent thinking.
  • Able to work effectively and efficiently in a team setting as well as independently and remotely.
  • Adaptable, creative problem solvers who can work collaboratively as a team member.
  • A valid driver's license is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Master of Science degree in Geology or closely related field.
  • Current OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training.

Responsibilities

  • Executing environmental site characterization, investigation, and remediation tasks.
  • Overseeing drilling for soil sampling and groundwater well installation.
  • Conducting groundwater sampling.
  • Subcontractor oversight.
  • Operation and maintenance of remediation systems.
  • Vapor intrusion/soil gas surveys.
  • Conducting fieldwork with a focus on health and safety.
  • Oversee the work of subcontractors.
  • Writing and preparing technical reports, work plans, letters, and memoranda.
  • Conduct field work including soil, groundwater, and/or vapor sampling in the field.
