About the position
Archetype Entertainment is seeking skilled Environment Artists to join their team in Austin, Texas. As part of this role, you will contribute to the creation of beautiful environments that match the artistic vision of their upcoming science fiction roleplaying video game. Collaborating with senior artists and creative leads, you will play a key role in delivering a great player experience and pushing the boundaries of your artistic skills. With a focus on high visual quality and attention to detail, this position offers an opportunity to be part of building an entirely new universe from the ground up.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the construction of beautiful environments in the game engine or build them to match the quality bar for the project.
- Work closely with more senior environment artists and potentially with creative leads to define and drive the artistic vision of the game.
- Collaborate with team members from design, narrative, and engineering to deliver a great player experience.
- Grow as an artist and push skills to the limit as the team builds an entirely new universe from the ground up.
- Have 4+ years of experience in AAA high-fidelity digital game development specifically contributing to Environment Art through hard surface modeling, terrain, architecture, and materials.
- Have a college or university degree in a related field or equivalent.
- Possess self-motivation, strong communication skills, and a strong desire to succeed as part of a team.
- Have the creative initiative and vision to apply conceptual images to craft assets of high visual quality.
- Have extensive knowledge of next-generation asset creation pipelines and tools.
- Have a portfolio showcasing an outstanding eye for lighting, materials, color theory, detail, and visual hierarchy.
- Possess problem-solving and prototyping ability.
Requirements
