About The Position

Emerson’s North America Engineering Solutions has an exciting opportunity for new graduates to develop and implement automation projects using DeltaV (Distributed Control System) as an Entry Process Automation Systems Engineer. DeltaV is Emerson’s digital process automation solution that controls the production line of a plant by monitoring and communicating with equipment like pumps, valves, and transmitters. We provide project management, engineering and design services, and supply of control systems hardware and software for control system projects in the refining, chemical, petrochemical, oil and gas production, pulp and paper, pharmaceutical, food and beverage, and power industries.

Requirements

  • Must be an upcoming college graduate on or before June 2027 with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Engineering Technology.
  • Must be comfortable in plant sites, and possess the ability to navigate staircases, ladders, scaffolding, and catwalks
  • Must be willing to travel to end user locations and up to 25-50% of the year.
  • Must have legal authorization to work in the United States

Nice To Haves

  • Majors in Chemical/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Technology
  • Previous Automation Controls experience
  • Previous engineering internship and/or military experience a plus

Responsibilities

  • Work in collaborative, problem solving teams responsible for control systems projects involving the latest technology available in automation, digital control and safety systems.
  • Work alongside experienced process and automation engineers and assist with the development, update, and quality check of project deliverables. Typical project deliverables include network architecture diagrams, instrumentation databases, control systems cabinet drawings, software configuration and user interface displays for DCS, SIS and PLC systems.
  • Work at customer sites in the field by participating in field surveys and assisting with installations, checkouts, and startups of control systems. By interfacing with customers and fulfilling their process automation needs, you can have a direct impact on improving plant safety, reliability, and efficiency for top companies in their industries.
