About The Position

AECOM is hiring an Entry-Level Highway Design Engineer for its Transportation team in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The position is scheduled to begin in Summer 2027. The engineer will work with a team on transportation projects in the Greater Pennsylvania Area, developing analytic and design skills, creating designs, performing calculations, and drafting construction plans under the supervision of an experienced engineer.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or demonstrated equivalency of education and/or experience.
• Ability to use spreadsheets, word processing, and other standard Office software.
• Effective time management and task prioritization skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work productively in a team environment.
• Professional verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to adapt to shifting priorities and work schedules.
• Receptiveness to comments and direction from others.

Nice To Haves

• Related experience through an internship or professional work supporting transportation design.
• FE/EIT certification in any state.

Responsibilities

• Design roadway geometry, traffic control, signing, and pavement markings.
• Support utility coordination.
• Produce computer-aided designs.
• Calculate quantities and cost estimates.
