About The Position

Zeeco is hiring an entry-level Mechanical Design Engineer to design combustion equipment, including pressure vessels, steel stacks, derrick structures, and piping systems. The role works with engineering, project execution, drafting, manufacturing, and applications teams to develop technically sound designs that use readily available materials and can be fabricated efficiently. The engineer will receive approximately one to two years of continual training, including internal presentations, one-on-one mentoring, and structured third-party training, before being expected to work independently. Training covers engineering software, design topics, and applicable codes and standards. Occasional domestic or international travel may be required for meetings or job-site visits.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering; Mechanical, Civil, or Architectural Engineering is preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Aptitude for interpreting specifications.
  • Fluency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Willingness to obtain and ultimately use a Professional Engineering License.

Responsibilities

  • Complete and/or check structural calculations for pressure vessels, steel stacks, derrick structures, piping systems, and other equipment.
  • Provide technical support and responses on structural matters within the engineering team.
  • Travel occasionally to domestic and/or international locations for meetings or job-site visits.
  • Give colleagues technical presentations on structural subjects.
  • Serve as a technical liaison with colleagues at US and global locations.
  • Coordinate with the project execution team so structural designs use materials and details that can be readily purchased.
  • Coordinate with drafting and manufacturing teams to develop designs that can be fabricated efficiently.
  • Assist Applications Engineers with structural topics for ongoing quotes.
  • Prepare clear, concise, and efficient structural design package reports.
  • Apply first principles to engineering challenges.
  • Identify waste and inefficiency and take action to improve them.

Benefits
