About The Position

Intertek is seeking an Entry-Level Field Technician to join its Professional Services Industries, Inc. (Intertek-PSI) team in Spring, Texas. The position performs a variety of construction materials testing, project-specific observations, and site assessment duties under general supervision or according to detailed controlled procedures. The work includes operating testing equipment, testing soil, concrete, or other materials, assessing data, and reporting results. The technician uses drawings, specifications, and diagrams; makes detailed observations of site activities; provides limited interpretation of results; and maintains detailed test documentation and data. The role is part of Intertek’s Building and Construction division, which provides assurance, testing, inspection, and consulting services for the architecture, engineering, and construction industry. The position requires the mental and physical ability to perform the stated duties, including work outdoors and at various heights. Off-shift work, overtime, and overnight hours may be required.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record.
• Able to work off shift and overtime as needed.
• Able to lift, move, push, and pull 30 to 50 pounds frequently and, occasionally, over 50 pounds with assistance.
• Able to receive detailed information through oral communication and distinguish sounds.
• Able to kneel and squat occasionally.
• Able to walk and stand for long periods.
• Able to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions, including hot and cold temperatures.
• Able to climb occasionally and work at various heights.
• Able to work overnight hours and off shift.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Six months of experience in construction materials or density testing.
• ACI Certification.

Responsibilities
