About The Position

Intertek is seeking an Entry-Level Field Technician to join its Professional Services Industries, Inc. (Intertek-PSI) team in Spring, Texas. The role is part of Intertek’s Building and Construction division, which provides assurance, testing, inspection, consulting, and building science services to the architectural, engineering, and construction industry. Under general supervision and/or detailed controlled procedures, the Field Technician performs testing, project-specific observations, and site assessment duties. The technician operates testing equipment, conducts tests such as soil and concrete testing, assesses data and reports findings, uses drawings and specifications, documents test results, and observes site activities with limited interpretation of results.

Requirements

Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record.
Must be able to work off shift and overtime as needed.
Ability to lift, move, push, and pull 30 to 50 pounds frequently, and occasionally lift over 50 pounds with assistance.
Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and discriminate sounds.
Ability to kneel and squat occasionally.
Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time.
Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions, including hot and cold temperatures.
Ability to climb occasionally and work at various heights.
Ability to work overnight hours and off shift.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent.
Six months of experience in construction materials or density testing.
ACI Certification.

Responsibilities

Operate testing equipment and conduct tests, such as soil or concrete testing, and provide assessment of data through reporting.
Utilize drawings, specifications, and diagrams.
Use specified methods to make detailed observations of site activities and provide limited interpretation of results.
Maintain detailed documentation and data from test results.
