About The Position

Intertek is seeking an Entry-Level Field Technician to join its Professional Services Industries, Inc. (Intertek-PSI) team in Houston, Texas. The role supports the Building and Construction division and offers an opportunity to develop a career in the architectural, engineering, and construction industry. Under general supervision or according to detailed procedures, the Field Technician performs testing, project-specific observations, and site assessments.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record.
Ability to work off shift and overtime as needed.
Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
Ability to frequently lift, move, push, and pull 30 to 50 pounds; occasionally handle over 50 pounds with assistance.
Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and distinguish sounds.
Ability to kneel and squat occasionally.
Ability to walk and stand for long periods.
Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions, including hot and cold temperatures.
Ability to climb occasionally and work at various heights.

Nice To Haves

Six months of construction-related testing and inspection experience.
ACI Certification.
NECEPT Certification.
TXDOT Certification.
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.

Responsibilities

Operate testing equipment and conduct testing, such as soil or concrete testing, and report assessments of data.
Use drawings, specifications, and diagrams.
Apply specified methods to make detailed observations of site activities and provide limited interpretation of results.
Maintain detailed documentation and data from test results.
