About The Position

This position is with a western fleet based in Wichita, Kansas. Drivers receive paid, on-road training with an experienced driver trainer at $850 per week. After 4 to 6 weeks, drivers receive their own truck and run lanes in states west of the Mississippi River, averaging 2,100 to 2,400 miles per week. Drivers are home every two to three weeks, and most loads are drop and hook. Starting pay is $0.50 per mile, increasing with experience, plus $15 stop pay and a performance bonus plan. Average weekly gross pay is $1,100 to $1,400, with a guaranteed $1,000 weekly floor for the first three months of solo driving. Medical, dental, and vision coverage begin after 30 days. Orientation pay is $300, and travel to orientation is covered. Riders and pets are allowed after training is complete.

Requirements

• Hold a valid Class A CDL and be at least 21 years old.
• New drivers must have at least 120 hours of training from an accredited CDL school.
• Experienced drivers must have 6 months of OTR experience in the last 12 months, or 12 or more months of experience in the past 5 years.
• Have no more than 2 moving violations in the past 2 years.
• Have no major preventable accidents in the past 5 years.
• Pass hair and urine drug testing and a DOT physical.

Responsibilities

• Complete paid on-road training with an experienced driver trainer.
• Drive freight routes in states west of the Mississippi River.
• Operate a truck independently after training.
• Handle drop-and-hook loads where applicable.
