About The Position

We are sharing a specialised part-time consulting opportunity for experienced entrepreneurs and business operators who have founded, co-founded, or independently managed their own businesses and can apply practical commercial judgement to professional work products. This role focuses on reviewing and evaluating business-related documents, analyses, spreadsheets, and presentations for quality, accuracy, relevance, and practical soundness. Selected professionals will draw on first-hand experience building and operating businesses to assess strategies, plans, recommendations, and supporting materials while providing clear, structured feedback.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • At least 2+ years of relevant professional experience
  • First-hand experience having founded, co-founded, or independently operated a business
  • Background as an Entrepreneur, Small Business Owner, Founder, Co-Founder, or similar business operator
  • Strong understanding of business strategy, operations, commercial decision-making, and execution
  • Strong analytical and document-review skills
  • Strong written communication skills
  • High attention to detail and ability to follow structured guidelines
  • Strong proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Comfortable reviewing varied business and commercial work products
  • Able to work independently and provide precise professional feedback
  • Applicants must be based in the United States, Europe, United Kingdom, or Canada

Responsibilities

  • Business Strategy: Review business plans, strategic recommendations, and commercial materials for accuracy and completeness. Assess whether proposed strategies are practical and logically supported. Evaluate priorities, assumptions, objectives, and execution considerations. Identify gaps, inconsistencies, or unrealistic recommendations. Apply practical judgement developed through direct business ownership or entrepreneurship.
  • Business Operations: Evaluate operational plans, workflows, and business processes. Review resource allocation, responsibilities, and execution approaches. Assess whether proposed processes are practical for real-world business environments. Identify operational inefficiencies, missing steps, or unclear ownership. Evaluate recommendations for feasibility and effectiveness.
  • Entrepreneurial Decision-Making: Review scenarios involving business growth, prioritisation, resource constraints, and commercial trade-offs. Assess whether recommendations appropriately account for practical business considerations. Evaluate competing strategic or operational options. Identify unsupported assumptions or overlooked constraints. Apply an owner-operator perspective to business decisions.
  • Commercial Analysis: Review business analyses, market information, and supporting documentation. Assess whether conclusions are appropriately supported by available information. Evaluate assumptions, comparisons, and recommendations. Identify analytical inconsistencies or weak reasoning. Review information for relevance and decision usefulness.
  • Financial & Spreadsheet Review: Review Excel spreadsheets for accuracy, completeness, and consistency. Assess calculations, tables, assumptions, forecasts, and supporting data. Identify errors, inconsistencies, or missing information. Evaluate whether quantitative outputs support stated business conclusions. Maintain strong attention to detail across spreadsheet-based work products.
  • Document & Presentation Review: Review Word documents and PowerPoint presentations for clarity, accuracy, and professional quality. Assess business narratives, analyses, recommendations, and presentation structure. Identify inconsistencies between underlying information and presented conclusions. Evaluate whether complex business topics are communicated effectively. Review materials against defined project guidelines.
  • Structured Evaluation & Feedback: Assess assigned work products against defined quality standards. Identify substantive strategic, operational, analytical, and presentation issues. Distinguish material concerns from minor editorial issues. Provide clear, concise, and actionable written feedback. Apply evaluation criteria consistently across assignments.
