About The Position

The Enterprise Solutions and Operations Architect is a pivotal role responsible for the comprehensive management, design, and reliability of the organization's SAP ecosystem. This role ensures the efficient operation of SAP infrastructure and integrations, oversees upgrades and maintenance, and manages the SAP Application Managed Services partner to guarantee system availability, functionality, and performance. Additionally, the architect leads the design and implementation of SAP solutions that align with the strategic needs of the business, working closely with various business functions to translate requirements into effective, scalable solutions that support future growth. This role contributes to optimizing business operations and sets the direction for integrating information applications and programs. This position demands strong leadership to drive accountability and ownership among managed service providers, clearly identifying and communicating performance improvement needs and ensuring adherence to expected service levels. Beyond leadership, the role requires strategic and critical thinking to design enterprise architecture and solutions that meet the organization's strategic goals, preparing for scalability and agility.

Requirements

  • BS or BA in business, management, information systems, computer science
  • Highly motivated hands-on problem solver
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Strong technology skills and business acumen
  • Excellent writing skills, polished verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of change control process and procedures
  • Foundational understanding of IT SDLC, ITSM, ITIL

Responsibilities

  • Vendor Management: Manage vendor relationships and performance for SAP Managed Services, inclusive of SAP bolt-on applications such as ShipERP, Bartender, Magento, etc. The quality of these relationships will be evident in the measurement of system availability, SLA response and resolution time, and customer satisfaction scores.
  • Operational Best Practices: Implement and maintain operational best practices for issue resolution, project management, and change management. Identify opportunities for continuous improvement to enhance service delivery and operational efficiency.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with business users, internal IT teams, and external partners to ensure a positive employee experience with applications in the SAP ecosystem and the processes for IT operations.
  • Help Desk Integration: Partner with internal help desk operations to create seamless integration between level 1 and level 2 support, ensuring efficient and effective resolution of issues.
  • Technology Architecture: Collaborate with business stakeholders, internal IT teams, and external partners to create an effective technology architecture that meets the needs of the business. This includes designing enterprise architecture and implementing solutions that align with the strategic goals of the organization.
  • Application Integration: Design and implement solutions to integrate applications within the business, ensuring they work together seamlessly to support business processes and objectives.
  • Process Improvement: Suggest improvements to existing internal functions and IT processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Maintenance and Upgrades: Execute application maintenance and product upgrades for applications within the technology environment and portfolio, ensuring they remain current and effective.
  • Proposals and Estimates: Prepare proposals and estimates for IT system design and implementation, providing detailed plans and cost assessments to support decision-making.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic plans for the SAP ecosystem, ensuring it aligns with the overall business strategy and supports future growth and scalability.
  • Performance Management: Drive accountability and ownership among managed service providers, clearly identifying and communicating performance improvement needs and ensuring adherence to expected service levels.
  • Innovation: Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies, identifying opportunities to leverage new solutions to enhance the SAP ecosystem and support business objectives.
