About The Position

Kentro is seeking an experienced Enterprise Printing Solutions Architect to serve as the senior technical authority supporting our government customer under the VA ESOM contract. This role will lead the architectural design, engineering strategy, and technical governance for the modernization of enterprise printing services across the Department of Veterans Affairs. The Enterprise Printing Solutions Architect serves as the principal technical advisor for all Enterprise Printing initiatives, translating customer requirements into secure, scalable, and operationally sustainable enterprise solutions. Working closely with the Enterprise Printing Program Manager, government stakeholders, engineering teams, and supporting workstreams, this role establishes the future-state architecture for enterprise printing while ensuring alignment with enterprise infrastructure, endpoint engineering, cybersecurity, networking, identity management, and service management strategies. The Architect provides technical leadership through implementation by validating engineering designs, establishing technical standards, reviewing solution deliverables, resolving complex technical challenges, and ensuring that Enterprise Printing capabilities are implemented in accordance with federal security requirements and enterprise architectural principles. This position plays a critical role in ensuring Enterprise Printing evolves into a modern, secure, highly available enterprise service that supports clinical, administrative, and business operations across the agency. The Enterprise Printing Solutions Architect bridges strategic planning and technical execution by defining architectural direction, validating engineering approaches, and providing technical governance across all Enterprise Printing initiatives. The Architect serves as the organization's technical authority for Enterprise Printing, ensuring engineering decisions align with long-term operational objectives while reducing technical risk and improving service maturity. Working collaboratively with Systems Engineers, Security Analysts, Reporting Engineers, Technical Writers, Quality Assurance personnel, and government stakeholders, the Architect ensures Enterprise Printing solutions are: Secure, Scalable, Operationally sustainable, Highly available, Compliant with federal standards, Integrated across the enterprise technology ecosystem.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Cybersecurity, or related discipline. An additional 10 years of relevant experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience designing enterprise infrastructure, endpoint engineering, enterprise printing, or managed services solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience designing enterprise printing architectures supporting large-scale organizations.
  • Experience with Microsoft Universal Print, print servers, secure printing technologies, printer fleet management, and enterprise print infrastructure.
  • Strong understanding of Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft Intune, Azure, Microsoft 365, networking, identity management, and endpoint engineering.
  • Experience integrating Enterprise Printing solutions with ServiceNow and enterprise ITSM platforms.
  • Strong understanding of NIST, DISA STIG, Zero Trust Architecture, and federal cybersecurity requirements.
  • Advanced knowledge of PowerShell automation and enterprise configuration management.
  • Exceptional analytical, communication, and architectural design skills.
  • US Citizen or Green card holder
  • Willing and able to obtain and maintain Public Trust Clearance

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the Enterprise Printing future-state architecture supporting enterprise modernization objectives.
  • Design secure, scalable, and resilient Enterprise Printing solutions supporting clinical, administrative, and business operations.
  • Produce enterprise architecture diagrams, reference architectures, engineering standards, and technical solution blueprints.
  • Define enterprise printing standards for print servers, queue management, device onboarding, secure release printing, cloud printing, and high availability.
  • Validate technical designs to ensure consistency with enterprise architecture and operational requirements.
  • Serve as the senior technical advisor for all Enterprise Printing engineering initiatives. Establish technical standards, engineering best practices, and architectural design principles.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring to Systems Engineers, Security Analysts, Reporting Engineers, and supporting engineering staff.
  • Review and approve engineering designs, implementation approaches, and configuration standards.
  • Resolve complex technical issues requiring cross-functional engineering coordination.
  • Ensure Enterprise Printing services integrate seamlessly with enterprise infrastructure, networking, identity management, endpoint engineering, and cloud services.
  • Design secure integrations with Microsoft Active Directory, Azure, Microsoft Intune, Microsoft Universal Print, ServiceNow, and enterprise infrastructure platforms.
  • Validate print server architecture, certificate management, PKI integration, DNS, networking, and authentication services.
  • Collaborate with enterprise architecture teams to ensure long-term scalability and interoperability.
  • Design Enterprise Printing solutions that comply with NIST 800-53, NIST 800-171, DISA STIGs, Zero Trust principles, and agency security requirements.
  • Define secure printing architectures utilizing PKI, certificate-based authentication, SNMPv3, encrypted communications, and secure release printing.
  • Partner with Security Analysts to ensure vulnerabilities are identified, mitigated, and remediated throughout implementation.
  • Participate in security reviews, architecture reviews, and technical governance boards.
  • Validate implementation activities to ensure adherence to approved architectural standards.
  • Support engineering teams during deployments, migrations, pilot implementations, and production cutovers.
  • Participate in Technical Readiness Reviews, Operational Readiness Reviews, Security Readiness Reviews, and Production Readiness Reviews.
  • Review implementation deliverables to ensure quality, consistency, and operational supportability.
  • Collaborate with ServiceNow teams to define service catalog items, CMDB relationships, asset governance, workflow automation, and operational processes.
  • Establish engineering standards supporting monitoring, reporting, lifecycle management, and operational sustainability.
  • Develop technical guidance supporting service transition and steady-state operations.
  • Identify opportunities for automation, standardization, and continuous service improvement.
  • Develop enterprise architecture documentation, technical standards, engineering guides, and implementation reference materials.
  • Present technical concepts and architectural recommendations to engineering teams, program leadership, customer stakeholders, and executive leadership.
  • Support proposal development, technical white papers, strategic planning efforts, and future modernization initiatives.
