About The Position

The Enterprise Solutions Architect supports St. Vincent de Paul Cincinnati by designing practical, sustainable technology solutions that improve operations, strengthen data and reporting, connect systems, and help staff use technology effectively in service of the mission. This role partners across departments to understand needs, recommend improvements, and support implementation of solutions that are secure, responsible, and aligned with organizational priorities. The Enterprise Solutions Architect works across departments to translate operational needs into clear technology recommendations, workflow improvements, reporting enhancements, automation opportunities, and implementation plans. The position serves as a bridge between staff, leadership, vendors, and IT resources, helping ensure that systems and processes work together effectively and can be sustained over time. A key priority for this role is supporting SVDP’s strategic plan through responsible use of Microsoft 365, Power Platform, data tools, automation, and AI-enabled solutions. The position helps identify practical use cases, evaluate risks and benefits, develop pilots or proofs of concept, and support adoption in a thoughtful, mission-aligned way.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Technology, or a related field; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Five or more years of experience supporting business systems, solution design, systems integration, data/reporting, business analysis, or technology implementation.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with non-technical staff to understand needs and translate them into practical technology solutions.
  • Experience documenting requirements, workflows, systems, data flows, or solution designs.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, organization, and follow-through skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives while balancing priorities, resources, and deadlines.
  • Ability to explain technical concepts in plain language to leadership, staff, and vendors.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Teams, Power Platform, Power BI, Azure, or related Microsoft technologies.
  • Experience with data governance, reporting, dashboards, automation, application administration, or business intelligence.
  • Experience coordinating with vendors, managed service providers, or implementation partners.
  • Certifications in Microsoft technologies, project management, business analysis, data, cloud, or enterprise architecture are helpful but not required.
  • AI and Automation Experience: Experience evaluating, implementing, supporting, or governing AI tools, including Microsoft Copilot, generative AI, intelligent automation, AI-enabled workflows, or AI-assisted reporting.
  • Responsible AI Knowledge: Understanding responsible AI principles, privacy, security, governance, change management, and practical adoption considerations.
  • Practical AI Use Cases: Ability to identify AI opportunities that improve efficiency, decision-making, reporting, service delivery, staff experience, or process consistency.

Responsibilities

  • Meet with department leaders and staff to understand operational needs, pain points, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Translate business needs into practical technology recommendations and implementation plans.
  • Help teams simplify workflows, reduce manual steps, and improve consistency in how work is completed.
  • Facilitate discovery conversations, requirements gathering, and solution demonstrations in plain language.
  • Support department adoption of new tools, processes, and technology-enabled changes.
  • Evaluate how existing systems are being used and identify ways they can better support organizational operations.
  • Support integration efforts between applications, databases, reporting tools, and third-party platforms.
  • Document current-state and future-state workflows, system relationships, and data movement between systems.
  • Partner with vendors and internal staff to ensure new solutions are secure, supportable, and aligned with SVDP’s needs.
  • Assist with testing, troubleshooting, rollout planning, and change support for new or improved technology solutions.
  • Help improve the reliability, consistency, and accessibility of organizational data.
  • Support the development of common definitions, data standards, and reporting practices.
  • Partner with departments to identify reporting needs and improve dashboards, reports, and analytics.
  • Identify gaps in data quality or data flow and recommend practical improvements.
  • Support responsible use of data to measure outcomes, improve operations, and inform leadership decisions.
  • Identify opportunities to automate routine work and reduce repetitive manual processes.
  • Evaluate emerging tools, including AI, Microsoft Copilot, Microsoft 365, and Power Platform capabilities, for practical value in SVDP’s environment.
  • Help develop pilot projects or proofs of concept to test new ideas before larger investment.
  • Document benefits, risks, resource needs, privacy considerations, governance needs, and adoption considerations for proposed AI and automation solutions.
  • Promote responsible, secure, ethical, and mission-aligned use of technology, automation, data, and AI.
  • Develop clear documentation, diagrams, standards, and guides that help the organization understand and sustain technology solutions.
  • Support development of technology roadmaps in partnership with the Director of IT.
  • Help prioritize solution ideas based on mission impact, cost, risk, staff capacity, and long-term sustainability.
  • Recommend approaches that reduce system complexity, improve user experience, and minimize unnecessary technology sprawl.
  • Contribute to technology governance discussions, vendor evaluations, and implementation planning.
