About The Position

Under the direct supervision of the Information Technology Manager, Clinical Applications, the Enterprise Imaging Administrator (EIA) manages the all-inclusive functions related to the daily operations of the Radiology, Neuro Lab, Cardiology, Radiation Oncology, and the Maternal Fetal Medicine Departments, as well as the development and maintenance of the enterprise imaging solution for Ellis Medicine. The EIA is responsible for application maintenance and replacement, image workflow, archiving, auto-routing, and pre-fetching, among other related activities. This role works closely with senior and front-line technical staff, IT, and vendors to ensure uninterrupted workflow. The EIA collaborates closely with radiologists and other physician clients to build an enterprise imaging solution for Ellis Medicine. Additionally, the EIA will collaborate with other Directors/Service line leaders to ensure their departments' IT/Imagine archival needs are met. The role involves managing projects from start to finish, ensuring successful software upgrades and implementation.

Requirements

• Minimum of five (5) years in a PACS Analyst role, project management role, clinical applications' analyst role, informatics role, or any combination of.
• Proven ability to support and maintain clinical applications, project management, problem-solving and knowledge of HL7 and DICOM protocols.
• System analysis skills.
• Ability to manage medium to large scale projects.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team, collaborating with clinical and technical staff to achieve common goals and address challenges.

Nice To Haves

• Master's degree in computer science (preferred, but not required; years of experience is otherwise considered).

Responsibilities

• Lead PACS related projects associated with the growth and development of IT systems within the Ellis Medicine organization.
• Act as the liaison between the Director of Radiology, Director of Cardiology, Director of Maternal Fetal Medicine and the system vendors to ensure physician system requirements are met on a day-to-day basis.
• Act as a liaison between radiology, cardiology, and other departments related to medical imaging.
• Work with and support other staff members in the department to ensure that information collected and generated is accurate for both internal and external clinical users.
• Assist the Department Directors with duties as assigned to ensure the department’s operations run optimally, including budget preparation, monitoring and identifying the need for new equipment, and overseeing and coordinating strategic planning for medical/clinical imaging initiatives.
• Investigate, identify, and prepare proposals to solve specific operational problems within all clinical operational areas, working closely as a liaison with the Director, Division Director, and the Information Technology Department to improve data flow among caregivers inside and outside the institution.
• Work closely with all imaging departments in the quality review process to identify future needs and design efficient workflow processes to enhance the quality of the services provided.
• Assist with the activities of vendors in all phases of installation and implementation of new systems.
• Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure upgrades and/or equipment downtime result in minimal interruption with minimal or no issues.
• Prepare reports for administration on all aspects of medical/clinical imaging operations as appropriate or directed.
• Attend and participate in departmental/hospital meetings.
• Attend seminars and training sessions necessary to maintain an appropriate level of professional competence.
• Ensure all department, hospital DOH, and JCAHO guidelines are met for diagnostic Barco Monitors and other equipment.
• Assist with additional operational duties as assigned by the Information Technology Manager, Clinical Applications changes to ensure quality and safety.
