About The Position

The Enterprise Systems Administrator is responsible for the administration, support, configuration, security, and continual improvement of the University's Ellucian Colleague ERP system and related enterprise applications. This position partners with campus departments to support business processes, user adoption, training, reporting, and system enhancements.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or higher in a relevant field and two years of related experience preferred. Equivalent combinations of education, technical training, and experience will be considered
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of employees, students, and the public
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, and percentages.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience supporting end-user systems, including ERP, enterprise application, or higher education information systems preferred.
  • Experience with Ellucian Colleague, Microsoft 365, reporting tools, user security administration, and SaaS applications is preferred
  • Must maintain a current Texas driver's license and be at least 21 years old to drive any vehicle, including personal vehicles, on behalf of the University while performing job duties
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
  • The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
  • The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds installing computer systems hardware.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for administration, configuration, implementation, enhancement, and support of the University's ERP and enterprise application environment
  • Responsible for daily functionality, user support, user training, and product documentation
  • Coordinate user testing and validation activities related to system upgrades, patches, enhancements, and business process changes
  • Determine the feasibility of user requests based on existing technical systems and data structures.
  • Assess the impacts of system modifications on relevant processes or applications
  • Maintain routine data imports, exports, and system interfaces.
  • Work with vendors and IT staff to support enterprise application integrations
  • Create, maintain, and support operational reports and reporting processes that assist campus departments in meeting business needs
  • Analyze and research system and application issues independently and work with consultants, vendors, and other IT staff members to resolve technical issues
  • Serve as primary administrator for assigned Ellucian Colleague modules and related application
  • Serve as a trusted partner to campus departments by providing responsive support, guidance, and training related to enterprise systems and business processes.
  • Develop end-user documentation and training resources
  • Create and maintain user accounts, providing access to enterprise applications, system resources, and security roles while adhering to the principle of least privilege
  • Maintain security for assigned applications and assist with institutional data integrity, retention, and compliance efforts
  • Maintain a list of system issues; determine solutions and an acceptable schedule for resolution.
  • Communicate resolution plans to interested stakeholders and ensure an open line of communication between end users and IT Services
  • Collaborate with other IT employees to develop and implement security and compliance-related procedures and controls.
  • Recommend revisions as necessary to ensure compliance with changing regulations and technology in areas of responsibility
  • Coordinate testing and deployment of Colleague releases, patches, and upgrades.
  • Periodically assist with testing of system disaster recovery plans and procedures
  • Apply listening skills, work under pressure, address conflict, solve problems, and make sound judgments
  • Stay informed of industry trends and all applicable technologies, including security issues
  • Maintain a positive working relationship with faculty, staff, students, and vendors.
  • Work directly with Ellucian support and third-party vendors to resolve application issues
  • Work cooperatively with other IT staff members and perform other duties as assigned by the AVP for IT
