About The Position

ERNI is seeking an experienced Enterprise GIS Engineer to join their team. This role involves supporting the design, implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of enterprise-scale Geographic Information System (GIS) solutions. The engineer will work with cloud-based GIS infrastructure, Web-GIS applications, enterprise integrations, and production support, collaborating with cross-functional technical teams, business stakeholders, and external consultants. The position is crucial for ensuring the reliability, security, scalability, and performance of mission-critical GIS platforms. This is an international hiring opportunity, open exclusively to candidates based outside the Philippines, with a 1-year project engagement and alignment to Manila business hours.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, GIS, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 10+ years of experience in Enterprise GIS implementation, cloud infrastructure, and Web-GIS application development.
• Strong hands-on experience with Enterprise GIS platforms such as: Esri ArcGIS Enterprise, GeoServer, GeoNode.
• Experience with cloud and infrastructure technologies including: AWS or Microsoft Azure, Kubernetes, Terraform, Windows Server, Linux.
• Strong software development experience using: REST APIs, Microservices, JavaScript, Python, C#, PostgreSQL, PostGIS.
• Experience in production support, deployment, system monitoring, troubleshooting, and patch management.
• Experience working within Agile and DevOps environments using Scrum, Kanban, and Azure DevOps.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Strong collaboration skills with technical teams, business stakeholders, and external consultants.
• Must align with Manila business hours.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working within Financial Services or other large enterprise IT environments.
• Knowledge of enterprise software engineering, cybersecurity, information security, and data privacy standards.
• Experience integrating GIS platforms with enterprise databases and business applications.
• Experience migrating ArcGIS applications, dashboards, StoryMaps, services, and GIS datasets.
• Experience using monitoring platforms such as Datadog.
• Experience leveraging AI tools or AI agents to improve engineering productivity.
• Professional certifications related to Cloud, GIS, Kubernetes, DevOps, or Information Security.

Responsibilities

• Support, administer, and maintain Enterprise GIS environments hosted on AWS.
• Monitor system performance, availability, security, and capacity while performing regular maintenance, updates, and patching.
• Develop and maintain REST APIs, microservices, automation workflows, reports, and Web-GIS applications.
• Enhance the usability, performance, reliability, and maintainability of existing GIS platforms.
• Integrate Enterprise GIS solutions with enterprise databases, business applications, and map-enabled systems.
• Support the migration and transition of GIS applications, dashboards, services, StoryMaps, and GIS data developed by internal teams and external vendors.
• Ensure GIS solutions comply with enterprise architecture, security, engineering, and deployment standards.
• Troubleshoot production issues, resolve service requests, and provide technical support to users and application owners.
• Participate actively in Agile ceremonies including Scrum, Kanban, sprint planning, and team meetings.
• Collaborate closely with GIS specialists, project teams, business stakeholders, and external consultants.
• Serve as backup support for the GIS Server Manager and GIS Administrator when required.
