Enterprise Data Architect

GAINSCO•Richardson, TX

About The Position

GAINSCO is seeking an Enterprise Data Architect to define and govern its enterprise-wide data and analytics architecture strategy. As a recognized subject matter expert, this role establishes the long-term vision, standards, reference models, and architectural patterns that guide how data is ingested, integrated, stored, modeled, governed, and delivered across the organization. The architect partners with business leaders and Data Engineering, Analytics, Security, and Governance teams to design and implement scalable, secure, and reusable data solutions. The role guides modernization, shapes enterprise data products, and presents architecture standards to senior leadership in support of an optimized, secure, and stable data environment. The position works with technologies including Snowflake, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse, SQL Server, Kafka, and cloud-agnostic platforms. It sets patterns for batch, streaming, real-time, and event-driven pipelines and establishes governance standards covering metadata, lineage, data quality, security, access controls, semantic models, enterprise datasets, and self-service analytics. The architect also provides technical direction to engineering teams, supports platform optimization and cost efficiency, and mentors junior architects and engineers. This is a hybrid position. GAINSCO offers medical, dental, vision, life, and short- and long-term disability insurance; parental leave; a 401(k) with company match; PTO; and company-determined paid holidays. Applicants must be eligible to work lawfully in the U.S. immediately; the employer will not sponsor work authorization. Offers are contingent on a satisfactory background investigation and pre-employment drug test.
