About The Position

Golden 1 Credit Union is seeking a strategic, employee-focused communicator to join their Enterprise Communications team. The ideal candidate will be adept at transforming complex ideas into clear, engaging messages, partnering with leaders and teams, and managing communications from planning through execution. This role requires adaptability to different audiences and channels, strong organizational skills, data-informed decision-making, and the ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal oversight. The specialist will collaborate effectively, provide sound communications guidance, and continuously seek improvements in clarity, engagement, and workflow efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited university with a preferred focus in English, marketing, communications or equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
  • 8+ years of communications experience, preferably in a financial services company.
  • 3+ years Supporting Human Resources communications, including HR programs, initiatives, and business processes.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with business units to understand objectives and recommend appropriate communications, messaging, methods, timing, and channels.
  • Lead internal communications planning, multi-media campaigns, change initiatives, and operational communications from planning through execution.
  • Adapt messaging and formats based on audience needs and channel best practices.
  • Identify opportunities to improve clarity, engagement, or efficiency across communication channels and tactics.
  • Write, edit, and manage a range of internal communications including emails, intranet content, social media posts, video scripts, announcements, presentations, and talking points.
  • Translate complex, technical, or ambiguous information into clear, employee-centered messaging.
  • Ensure content aligns with brand, voice, tone, and style guidelines.
  • Manage content calendars, deadlines, and approval workflows with minimal oversight.
  • Use engagement data and feedback to evaluate communication effectiveness.
  • Contribute to reporting and analysis for internal communications channels.
  • Recommend adjustments based on results and insights.
  • Build strong working relationships with internal partners and stakeholders.
  • Provide consultation and guidance on internal communications best practices.
  • Support and review content developed by junior team members, as appropriate.
  • Contribute ideas that improve processes, tools, or ways of working.
  • Other duties as assigned.
