About The Position

The Enterprise Clearance Strategy Lead will be responsible for shaping and scaling Target’s enterprise Clearance capability. This role involves building strategies, tools, and processes to achieve optimal financial outcomes and align with the company's price perception and operational goals. The position will focus on developing long-range planning processes that integrate with in-season execution, positioning Clearance as a strategic organizational lever. Key activities include influencing priorities across Product, Data Science, and Analytics, integrating tools like IVY with planning systems, and accelerating automation for program setup, forecasting, and in-season tracking. The lead will also ensure the continuous evolution of optimization tools to meet business needs. Additionally, the role supports Enterprise Clearance initiatives by simplifying and automating processes, defining playbooks and guardrails, and ensuring consistency in Clearance planning and execution from long-range planning (LRP) through in-season actions. This includes influencing critical clearance price initiatives that affect guests and teams across the enterprise. The position also plays a key role in enterprise level EOS planning efforts, supporting cross-functional teams during high-impact seasonal transitions and ensuring strategic intent translates to effective execution. Success in this role depends on the ability to lead through influence, drive cross-functional alignment, and utilize data to identify risks and opportunities, employing strategic problem-solving, strong communication, and a collaborative mindset in a dynamic environment. Target will provide robust onboarding, development resources, and opportunities for growth as a strategic thought partner.

Requirements

  • Four-year degree or equivalent work experience
  • 6+ years previous merchandising experience (ex: Enterprise Price, Merch, PIM, finance, etc.)
  • Experience leading complex projects and enterprise strategies
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to maximize relationships
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and leadership skills
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with strong analytical, decision-making, project management, planning and organizational skills
