Team and Role Description: The Architecture & Standards (A&S) team ensures efficient, effective, secure and resilient solutions for the Enterprise through collaboration and governance and unlocks future potential Disney magic through research and development. The Business Architect EA supports ARD’s core capabilities by leading the Business Architecture practice, methodology and integration with the Technical Architecture. Additionally, this role manages the program that governs DETAF framework adoption across the Walt Disney Company by coordinating the training, certification and continuous improvement process. This role is also in charge of maintaining and adjusting the Business Capability Model and their applicability in the roadmap process and maturity assessments

Requirements

  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in Business Architecture, Enterprise Architecture, or strategic business analysis.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong understanding of Enterprise Architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, BIZBOK, Zachman).
  • Demonstrated experience in capability modeling, value stream mapping, and strategic planning.
  • Solve complex problems by applying Desing Thinking or Customer focus approach.
  • Interpret business challenges and recommend best practices to improve products, process, or services.
  • Familiarity with EA tools (e.g., LeanIX, BizzDesign, Orbus, Ardoq, or Sparx EA).
  • Ability to work across business and IT boundaries with a strong consultative approach.
  • Knowledge of Technology Business Management (TBM), SAFe, or Agile architecture practices.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in Business Architecture Guild’s CBA®, TOGAF, or similar frameworks.
  • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma or Agile business architecture.
  • Knowledge of Domain-Design Driving (DDD) and Desing Thinking approaches
  • Experience in digital transformation, business model innovation, or product-oriented organizations.
  • Modeling and Visualization Skills

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain business capability models, value streams, and operating models.
  • Support Enterprise Architecture governance, ensuring alignment of business and IT roadmaps
  • Define and manage the Business Architecture knowledge base, including models, mappings, and business glossaries.
  • Collaborate with business leaders to capture strategic objectives, transformation goals, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Facilitate business impact analysis for strategic initiatives and digital transformation programs.
  • Partner with Solution Architects, Data Architects, and Technology Architects to ensure cross-domain alignment.
  • Identify and prioritize business architecture gaps, redundancies, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Contribute to portfolio rationalization and capability-based planning exercises.
  • Support organizational change management efforts and stakeholder engagement.
  • Ensure traceability from strategy to execution using tools such as capability heatmaps, initiative mappings, and business outcome models.
