About The Position

To assist the Chamber Singers ensemble conductor with rehearsal and concert logistics. This role involves developing transferable skills in career and self-development, communication, critical thinking, community and belonging, leadership, professionalism, and teamwork. The student manager will proactively develop themselves, clearly exchange information, identify and respond to needs, develop and sustain an inclusive community, recognize and capitalize on strengths, understand effective work habits, and build collaborative relationships.

Requirements

• Knowledge of stage configurations
• Knowledge of scheduling practices for stage set-ups and tear-downs, rehearsals, and performances
• Ability to safely perform the physical work required of all duties with or without reasonable accommodation
• Crouching, stooping, grasping/handling, and lifting objects up to 20 lbs
• Exposure to loud noise
• Rare exposure to heights or cramped quarters

Responsibilities

• Set chairs as needed for weekly rehearsals
• Work with conductor on logistics for dress rehearsals and performances
• Work with conductor on logistics for off-campus dress rehearsals and performances
• Manage communication with Music Department staff, conductor, and ensemble members
