About The Position

Child Start, Inc. is currently seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Enrollment Specialist to join our team. As an Enrollment Specialist, you will play a vital role in the enrollment process for our early childhood education programs. You will be responsible for assisting families with the application process, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of enrollment documents, and maintaining up-to-date records in our database. Establish a comfortable working relationship with families beginning at the time of application. Conduct interviews and review family documentation to verify essential eligibility criteria and maintain comprehensive and accurate electronic eligibility determination records. Conduct home visits when needed, alone or with appropriate staff, to complete application interviews or to make contact when other means of communication are lacking. Form and maintain working relationships with outside agencies to facilitate both recruitment and services to enrolled and waitlisted families. Set up and staff recruitment tables to sign up potential new families at community organizations and events. Support efforts to ensure centers maintain funded enrollment level and an ongoing waitlist Manage Child Start’s hotline and online pre-application process. Provide appropriate information and referrals to waitlisted families, including paperwork required before a child may attend a center-based program. Ensure data is entered accurately along with all applicable documentation to complete applications. Process EHS to HS transition eligibility verifications, as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree in social work, business or a related field.
  • One to three years of related experience.
  • Working knowledge of standard practices and procedures.
  • Must be able to travel to other Child Start locations and applicant homes to complete eligibility paperwork.
  • Use of office equipment such as telephone system, fax, scanner, etc.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency and data entry accuracy.
  • Focused attention to detail, well-organized and demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Able to communicate in a professional manner through verbal/written means, maintaining confidentiality at all times.
  • High level of confidentiality, personal integrity, and ethics.
  • Must be sensitive, respectful, and accepting of all families.
  • Must gain extensive knowledge of Head Start Performance Standards and agency procedures as they pertain to eligibility.
  • Must have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship.
  • Must be able to commute daily to Wichita, KS.

Nice To Haves

  • Education, certifications, training and experience will be considered.
  • Head Start or database experience preferred.
  • Bilingual preferred.
