About The Position

Goodwill Industries of New Mexico is seeking an Enrollment & Recruitment Specialist to join their GoodJobs employment assistance program. This role involves outreach to potential clients and assisting individuals from diverse backgrounds with entering the program. The specialist will also be responsible for recruiting new clientele and educating the business community on the benefits of hiring program participants. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a difference in the community by helping individuals find employment and improve their lives. The position offers a guaranteed 38 hours per week at $16.25/hour.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of organizational practices, policies, and procedures and compliance with same.
  • Knowledge of and compliance with all safety policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of applicable federal, state, county, and local laws, regulations, and requirements.
  • Knowledge of Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
  • Knowledge of outreach services and activities, funding agencies, and community health care and vocational services.
  • Skill in working with persons with barriers to employment.
  • Skill in operating various word-processing, spreadsheets, and database software programs.
  • Ability to train a variety of skills in varied environments, with different physical demands.
  • Ability to travel as required based on caseload, scope of work.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as case notes, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to prepare accurate, complete, and legible reports.
  • Ability to create and present detailed and effective speeches and presentations.
  • Ability to exhibit excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English.
  • Ability to carry out instructions in verbal and written format.

  • Must have a valid New Mexico driver’s license, liability insurance, insurability under the agency insurance carrier, dependable vehicle, and a clean driving record.
  • Two years’ professional work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree in Social Services or related field preferred.
  • Bilingual is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Adheres to attendance and punctuality policies.
  • Exhibits excellent customer service skills.
  • Completes electronic enrollment process accurately and timely.
  • Educates the business community on the benefits of hiring GINM participants and utilizing GINM Employment Services.
  • Utilizes the Caseworthy system to assess client strengths, abilities, interests, and barriers.
  • Provides service referrals for community resources to assist clients.
  • Performs outreach to targeted agencies/organizations to attract new clientele.
  • Maintains current knowledge of local community changes (labor market, income levels, business community, other agencies).
  • Establishes and maintains communication with other agencies/organizations (e.g., Workforce Connections, social service providers, Chambers of Commerce, colleges/universities).
  • Assists with service department/program goals through recruitment of new clients via phone, email, in-person, and digital outreach.
  • Maintains a current file of employers/organizations contacted.
  • Attends GINM and community job fairs and hiring events to recruit and schedule new clients.
  • Manages participant files/electronic records and provides accurate documentation, including case notes.
  • Participates in scheduled team meetings.
  • Develops partnerships with local businesses to educate employers and create preferred hiring status for GINM participants.
  • Maintains accurate records and documentation for reporting to meet GINM, State, and CARF standards.
  • Prepares monthly department reports.
  • Gathers satisfaction survey data from participants, funders, employers, and other stakeholders.
  • Ensures HIPAA compliance.
  • Responsible for the safety of persons served.
  • Responsible for CARF compliance and maintaining standards.
  • Implements CARF standards into all programs and follows professional ethics.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all privileged information.
  • Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.
