About The Position

Essential to the BBBS mission, the primary function of this position is to ensure that volunteers and children are appropriately enrolled and matched while exercising a high degree of independent judgment in applying BBBS standards and practices. A high level of customer service, with a focus on volunteer options and child safety, is expected throughout the enrollment and matching process. This position may be assigned duties within all Service Delivery Model (SDM) functions (CRS, EMS, MSS) and any program, based on organizational needs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent and one of the following: a bachelor’s degree in social services, human services, or a related field; an associate degree or two years of higher education and two years of relevant work experience; or four years of relevant work experience in social work, counseling, social services, child development, or related fields.
  • Bilingual fluency in Spanish is required.
  • Experience working with both child and adult populations; assessment, intake, or interview experience preferred.
  • Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Outlook, and Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and enroll volunteers: Assess volunteer suitability through interviews, orientations, and completion of all enrollment requirements. Conduct home visits and reference checks, as needed, to support appropriate placements. Enroll Big Couple volunteer applicants as part of the volunteer program.
  • Enroll and support youth and families: Interview children and parents/guardians in English and Spanish, provide child safety education, complete all enrollment steps, and identify additional family needs for referral to appropriate services.
  • Conduct assessments and write reports: Prepare detailed and accurate assessments of volunteers, youth, and families. Analyze information to make informed recommendations regarding program participation, matching, and support, and maintain thorough documentation in agency systems.
  • Match and support participants: Facilitate match meetings, align volunteer strengths and interests with agency services, and recommend ongoing support and training based on assessment findings.
  • Ensure child safety: Apply agency policies, procedures, and risk management practices to support the safety of children, volunteers, and families in all interactions.
  • Event participation: Attend and assist with tasks at two or more BBBS of SDC match events per year in support of the agency and participants.
  • Collaborate and contribute: Partner with service delivery staff to support smooth transitions and strong matches. Assist with agency events, marketing, fundraising, and administrative efforts, as needed.
  • Be a community ambassador: Represent BBBS at national and local events, promote programs, and foster engagement with volunteers, families, and the community.
