About The Position

Family Services of the Merrimack Valley is seeking a dedicated and compassionate bilingual (English/Spanish) Enrollment & Match Support Specialist to join our Big Friends Little Friends mentoring program. In this role, you will guide children, parents/guardians, and volunteer mentors through every stage of the mentoring journey—from enrollment and interviews to thoughtful match creation and ongoing support. Your work will be instrumental in building safe, meaningful, and enduring mentoring relationships that empower young people, strengthen families, and foster positive youth development.

Requirements

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Experience working with youth and families from diverse backgrounds.
  • A collaborative team player who is highly motivated, energetic, and results-driven, with strong follow-through and a commitment to achieving goals.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate sensitive conversations.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and occasional weekends.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and case management software.
  • Comfortable using data management systems and tracking outreach metrics.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Strong cultural competency and commitment to inclusion, particularly with Latinx and other diverse communities.
  • Access to reliable transportation to conduct agency business. Must maintain an acceptable driving record and appropriate automobile insurance coverage.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree in human services, or a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct parent and child enrollments, including interviews, orientations, timely and comprehensive written assessments.
  • Support Volunteer Recruiter with new mentor training and ongoing training as needed.
  • Conduct assessments to determine the suitability of children for program participation.
  • Facilitate the matching process between children and mentors.
  • Provide ongoing support through regular phone calls, emails, and check-ins to mentors, mentees, and families.
  • Monitor and document match progress, ensuring safety and satisfaction for all parties.
  • Identify and address any issues or concerns related to child safety or match dynamics.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records in program databases.
  • Organize and participate in match activities and events.
  • Work collaboratively with agency staff and community partners.
  • Support agency fundraising efforts including the annual Bowl a Strike for Kids event.
  • Other duties as assigned or requested.
